Rock Choir Members Perform Among a Record Gathering of DeLoreans at EuroFest
More than 275 Rock Choir Members performed at the Stormont Classic Car Show on Saturday 13 June, delivering a series of pop-up performances throughout one of the country’s largest motoring events.
The day featured around 140 DMC DeLoreans from 16 countries, believed by organisers to be the largest gathering of the iconic vehicles in the world since production ended at the Dunmurry factory in the early 1980s.
Celebrating an iconic song, film and Northern Ireland success story
Against this backdrop, Rock Choir paused for a special performance of The Power of Love, the chart-topping hit made famous by Huey Lewis and the News and forever associated with the blockbuster film Back to the Future.

Originally built in Belfast and celebrated around the world, the DeLorean remains one of Northern Ireland’s most recognisable industrial success stories.

Rock Choir continues to grow across Northern Ireland
The performance comes at a time of growing momentum for Rock Choir in Northern Ireland. Since launching in Belfast in 2023, the choir has quickly built a reputation for its uplifting performances, bringing people together through contemporary music, friendship and community spirit.
Earlier this year, Rock Choir attracted international attention when its performance of Dreams by The Cranberries, filmed at the Giant’s Causeway, amassed more than 10 million views online.
More than 33,000 Rock Choir Members across the United Kingdom have learned The Power of Love as part of the Rock Choir repertoire. For the Belfast members taking part, performing the song in front of 140 DeLoreans was a fitting tribute to one of the city’s most famous creations.
“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity”
Rock Choir Leader Clare Galway, who lives in Lisburn, said:
“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to sing The Power of Love in front of the DeLoreans. Our performance was made even more special because two of our Rock Choir Members had connections to the factory. One member worked in the office there, while another member’s dad worked in the Quality Control department. It was the first time singing at an event for some of our Rockies, so it was a brilliant day for them.”
“As well as singing The Power of Love, Rock Choir Members entertained the crowds with feel-good songs including Erasure’s A Little Respect, Roll With It by Oasis and Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi.”
Music, memories and a moment to remember
For a few minutes at Stormont, one of the defining songs of the 1980s was performed among the largest gathering of DeLoreans seen since production ended in Dunmurry, bringing together music, film and a story rooted firmly in Belfast.
