Jen started singing before she could even pronounce the word “harmony”—though that didn’t stop her teaching arrangements to her primary school classmates. From her earliest days as a member of the Scottish National Junior Choir, it was clear music wasn’t just a hobby; it was part of her DNA.

Since then, she’s lent her voice to a seriously eclectic mix of musical moments—from classical to contemporary, concert halls to community halls. Along the way, she’s sung backup for opera legend Plácido Domingo, joined musical theatre star Kerry Ellis on stage, and harmonised behind indie rockers The Kooks. She’s also been part of the entertainment line-up at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, performing alongside Deacon Blue and Kylie—because why stick to one genre when you can have them all?

Jen’s Rock Choir leader career has been packed with musical adventures, including leading a 250-strong flash mob in the middle of Silverburn Shopping Centre and taking her choirs to record at iconic venues like Abbey Road Studios in London and The Glasshouse (formerly Sage Gateshead). One of her most unforgettable experiences was travelling to Berlin with her choirs to perform at an international festival in one of the most stunning venues in Germany—a true pinch-me moment. She’s also led performances everywhere from the Edinburgh Fringe to a transport museum, and believes that any space can be a stage.

Whether it’s a major theatre, a summer festival, or a joyful community event, Jen throws herself into each performance with the same energy and enthusiasm. Her favourite gigs, though? The ones with heart. She especially loves charity marathons and runs—where the atmosphere is buzzing and the harmonies help lift tired spirits—and, of course, anything that ends with tea and cake.

While music has always been her first love, Jen also built a successful parallel career in learning and development, becoming known for her empowering, motivating, people-first approach. She soon realised that combining those skills with her passion for music was the sweet spot: helping people discover confidence, joy, and connection through singing.
Jen especially loves arranging songs for small groups and choirs, making space for creativity, expression, and the kind of harmonies that give people goosebumps. Teaching and performing go hand-in-hand for her, and nothing makes her happier than watching a group come alive through song—whether they’re belting a pop anthem or blending a delicate ballad.

Jen has been part of Rock Choir since 2012 and knows firsthand how it feels to be a Rock Choir member. After leading choirs for the Glasgow Gospel Choir and six Scottish community choirs, she jumped at the opportunity to step into the spotlight as a Rock Choir leader in 2023. Her mission? To bring people together through music and community.

Jen believes music is more than a performance—it’s a place to belong. And if you leave a rehearsal or performance singing louder, standing taller, and smiling wider, she’s done her job.
