Elaine Williamson
Since starting her journey with Rock Choir in 2010, Elaine has led her choirs to perform at many prestigious events in Glasgow, Edinburgh and across the UK. Some of the most memorable and exciting include the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, St Giles Cathedral, SECC, Hopetoun House, Murrayfield Stadium and the Edinburgh Fringe as well as nationally at Wembley Arena, Liverpool Echo Arena and BBC Proms in the Park 2018. Since 2017, Elaine has also been producing Rock Choir’s run of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe in August which has seen over 5000 Rock Choir members from across the UK perform, with another 2500 set to perform this August (2019). Elaine’s choirs sing at many charity events and have helped raise thousands of pounds for local and national charities over the years.
Elaine is an enthusiastic, encouraging and fun choir leader who loves to see her choir members achieve things that they maybe never believed they could. She is passionate about all the benefits that group singing brings to people and runs her weekly choir rehearsals with humour, hard work, fun and achievement at the core; a place where her choir members can have an hour an half of ‘me’ time each week.
”
When I interviewed to be a Rock Choir Leader in 2010, I was still at University and thought it would be a job for a couple of years until I got a ‘real job’.
I’ve now had over a 10-year career with Rock Choir and I couldn’t wish to work for a more supportive, energetic and dynamic organisation.
Over the years I’ve always felt incredibly supported by Caroline and our team at HQ whether it’s with different ideas and projects, like bringing Rock Choir to the Edinburgh Fringe which had been a constant dream of mine since 2011 or bringing new ideas in locally for our Members to try.
It’s a continual collaboration within the team to create the best experience possible for our wonderful choir members.
