Flo Glen is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and performer whose greatest passion in life comes from sharing the joy of music!
Although Flo was born in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, Flo spent most of her childhood living in France and Portugal. Throughout her teenage years, Flo could often be found either on the basketball court or in the school jazz band playing flute and drums (not at the same time)!
Initially pursuing a path in psychology, Flo studied at Durham University, where she cultivated a deep interest in human behaviour and emotion—an interest that would later inform her songwriting. After completing her degree, she relocated to Spain to play professional basketball – her other passion aside from music!
Despite her success on the court, Flo felt a growing pull toward her lifelong interest in music. This led her back to the UK, where she enrolled in the Music Production program at Leeds Beckett University. It was here that she honed her love for songwriting and developed the technical skills required to bring her songs to life. In 2015 she won a songwriting for screen competition, a milestone that earned her the opportunity to record her first studio EP.
Since then, Flo has released a full-length album and an additional EP, both of which have received international airplay and have been featured on BBC Radio. Her music is characterized by its introspective lyrics, genre-blending sound, and powerful vocals—elements that reflect her diverse life experiences and eclectic influences.
Outside of her solo work, Flo remains deeply involved in community and collaborative music-making. She loves leading her Rock Choirs, fostering inclusive musical spaces that celebrate creativity and connection. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, she also plays drums and can often be found behind a drum kit in various pubs and bars up and down the country!
