Rock Choir Meet Chesney Hawkes at Long Walk Live Windsor

Rock Choir had a surprise photobomb moment when the one and only pop icon and 80s chart-topper Chesney Hawkes unexpectedly stopped to join their group photo shortly before they performed on stage at Long Walk Live in Windsor.

The unexpected encounter with the headline act was an exciting moment, leaving the Rockies even more energised for their set.

Rockies then took to the stage and entertained the crowds on the Long Walk, in what was the first time the music festival had been held near Windsor Castle.

The audience also enjoyed performances from Boyzlife and Right Said Fred, alongside Taylor Swift, ABBA and Ed Sheeran tribute acts.

“The Band’s Back Together!”

Rock Choir Leader Lucy Hewes reflected on the surprise meeting with Chesney Hawkes at Long Walk Live Windsor and the opportunity to perform at the festival during its debut year.

Lucy said:

“Long Walk Live was in its debut year, so it was great for Rock Choir to be part of it. It was my first time performing on the Long Walk since becoming the Leader of Windsor Rock Choir in 2024.

“I’m always encouraging my choir members to remind me to take more photos at gigs, and someone suggested taking a group shot with Windsor Castle behind us.

“So after our line-ups, we got into position and then Chesney Hawkes, who was headlining that night, walked past. He said, ‘The band’s back together!’

“The last time we saw him was back in 2015, when he sang with us at our Rock Choir arena show. He stayed for a while and chatted with us, and many of the members stayed on at the event to watch his headline performance.”

Rock Choir Perform at Long Walk Live

Rock Choir went down a storm at the festival, entertaining the crowds with an energetic and upbeat set list.

For the Rock Choir Members performing, it was a chance to debut one of their latest songs, Space Man, as well as hits including A Little Respect, Someone You Loved and The Power of Love.

A Memorable Day in Windsor

The surprise encounter with Chesney Hawkes at Long Walk Live Windsor added another special moment to an exciting day for the Rockies.

From gathering for a group photograph in front of Windsor Castle to taking to the stage at the festival, the performance gave members the opportunity to share Rock Choir’s uplifting repertoire in one of the country’s most recognisable locations.
