Michelle Barnes – Rock Choir Deal
Michelle discovered Rock Choir through online advertising while looking for something new to try.
That simple step led her to join her local Rock Choir in Deal, Kent, where she quickly found herself part of a friendly and welcoming group.
Starting something new
Joining Rock Choir gave Michelle the opportunity to learn new songs and meet new people at the same time.
“Learning new songs meeting new friends.”
Being part of a local choir in Deal has allowed her to build connections while enjoying music in a relaxed and supportive environment.
A first performance to remember
One of the most memorable moments in Michelle’s journey so far has been her first performance.
“My first performance gig was Red Nose Day in Deal, Kent. I was so nervous, I wanted to hide at the back.”
Despite those initial nerves, the support she received from others around her made all the difference.
“I met two lovely Rockies who took me under their wings and reassured me everything would be great.”
Red Nose Day, the well-known nationwide fundraising event, gave Michelle the chance to be part of something bigger while performing in her local community.
“I had an awesome day. Loved performing for the first time in public and am so excited for a summer of gigs!”
Confidence growing with every experience
Since that first performance, Michelle has continued to grow in confidence.
“This has helped my confidence so much.”
What began as a new experience has quickly become something that brings both enjoyment and personal growth.
A welcoming community
For Michelle, the people around her are what make the experience stand out.
“All the people in the choir community are so friendly.”
From rehearsals in Deal to performances in the local area, she has found a place where she feels supported, encouraged and excited for what’s still to come.
“Best choice I’ve made was joining Rock Choir.”
