Rock Choir Uniform can be purchased by CLICKING HERE, to visit our online shop.
Please note that members are not obliged to purchase any uniform and are invited to wear alternatives as listed below.

Although we are all different shapes and have personal fashion styles, we always want our members to look neat and professional whilst representing Rock Choir.

Please read our uniform policy below:

FULL UNIFORM

This is the uniform you will be expected to wear the majority of the time unless there is a particularly hot spell and your leader decides that our “Summer Uniform” is applicable.

Layering up options for cold performances are also listed below, under the heading “Winter Uniform”.

T-SHIRT: Our black Rock Choir T-shirt with the bright recognisable logo is our staple piece of uniform. You may choose to wear a Rock Choir T-shirt, Rock Choir polo or, for those members who do not wish to purchase one, you can instead wear a plain black, unbranded T-shirt. You may want to consider wearing a long black vest-top beneath your T-shirt to avoid possible skin exposure during high-reaching arm movements that some song routines contain.

TROUSERS/SKIRT: Smart black full-length trousers or tailored trousers are the preferred bottom-half clothing item for all performers. Jet-black jeans will also be accepted as long as they are smart full-length with no fading or rips. Leggings are not part of our uniform. Alternatively, a full-length plain black skirt may be worn, as long as it’s loose to provide ease of movement.

SHOES: Black closed-toe shoes with black socks or tights will aid uniformity. Please avoid having bare feet or legs on show. High-heels are best avoided for your safety and comfort.

WINTER UNIFORM

In colder weather consider wearing dark or thermal layers under your performance T-shirt to keep warm. Branded fleece jackets, scarves, and hats are also available to purchase from the Rock Choir Shop to help you stay warm. Alternatively, plain, unbranded black hats/scarves/gloves may also be worn. If you don’t own a Rock Choir fleece, you may wear a black coat open at the front to show the logo during the performance.

For festive events, you may be requested by your leader to wear a Santa hat, which needs to be red, with a white trim. Spares may be available from your leader, upon request.

FLASH MOB UNIFORM

Appropriate trousers/skirt in any colour. (Skirt length on the knee or below please). Smart jeans are acceptable (must not faded or ripped please). No sportswear thank you. Rock Choir uniform T-shirt (or plain black top) on top-half to be revealed during the surprise moment as directed by your choir leader.

A flash mob is all about the element of surprise! To help entertain our audience we ask that you reveal your Rock Choir uniform t-shirt, as directed by your choir leader, at a key moment during the song. In addition, we encourage members to wear something on the bottom-half which helps disguise the fact that you are there to perform and which helps blend you, and the others in your choir, into the crowd. Please note that your Rock Choir uniform t-shirt/top should be hidden beneath a jacket, cardigan or coat so as not to give the game away!

Wearing black trousers as part of your ‘Full Uniform’ outfit, in the case of a flash mob, is requested if the flash mob leads into a longer performance of over 3 songs.

SUMMER UNIFORM

In warm weather, consider wearing black culottes or cropped trousers below the knee or knee length shorts or a long black flowing skirt – with your Rock Choir t-shirt. You may also choose to wear black open-toe sandals. Please do not wear flip-flops as they can be a trip hazard when performing.

For your comfort and safety, please remember to wear a high SPF suncream, seek shade whenever possible and consider wearing a black baseball cap (or Rock Choir branded baseball cap available in our Rock Choir Shop) to protect your head from the sun. Singing is thirsty work and therefore it is vital to keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water before, and after our performances (Please ensure water bottles are named and also are not taken into the performance space due to health and safety).

GENERAL NOTES

PLEASE AVOID: To avoid untidy choir lines, please don’t wear knee-length or short skirts, leggings, or shorts, or garments tucked into boots.

ACCESSORIES: Please keep these to a minimum. You may prefer to leave on engagement/wedding rings and simple stud earrings. Please remove any necklaces, bracelets, watches (including smart-watches), earrings and large belts, which can distract the audience. It is permissible to wear religious or health jewellery with your uniform during performances, provided it is essential.

HAIR: Long hair should ideally be tied back away from the face, especially if it’s windy.

MAKE-UP: Make-up is optional, however, many members love to wear lipstick, blusher and mascara as complexions can change when under stage lighting. We are also big fans of bright red lipstick, which enables audiences to focus on the mouth and lyrics more! Using glitter on either the hair or face is fun and looks great under theatre lights.

UNDER LAYERS: You may want to consider wearing a long black vest-top beneath your T-shirt to avoid possible skin exposure during high-reaching arm movements that some song routines contain.

MOBILE PHONES: Under no circumstances may mobile phones be used during the performance itself. This includes taking pictures and recording videos. Please remain professional and focused at all times.

A Friendly Reminder: Please remain professional, kind and courteous at all times when wearing your Rock Choir uniform.

We hope you enjoy your performance!
