Rock Choir Ireland Perform at the Giant’s Causeway in a Landmark Coastal Filming

More than 500 Rock Choir Ireland members came together at the iconic Giant’s Causeway for a landmark choir performance that brought our community together in a truly special way. Set against one of the most recognisable landscapes in the world, this was the first time a choir had ever filmed at this historic location, with thanks to the National Trust.

Singers from across Northern Ireland gathered to perform a powerful arrangement of “Dreams” by The Cranberries, creating an uplifting experience shaped by music, nature and shared connection. For everyone involved, it reflected what our Rock Choir journey is all about, coming together, supporting one another and creating something meaningful through singing together.

Filmed on the rugged north Antrim coast, the performance became a celebration of Ireland’s natural beauty and the strength of our Rock Choir Ireland community.

The first choir to perform at the Giant’s Causeway

This project marked a defining moment for Rock Choir Ireland. Performing at the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO-listed landmark, was a proud milestone for everyone involved and a unique opportunity to sing in a location known around the world.

Bringing together more than 500 voices in this setting created something powerful. For many members, it was a chance to be part of something bigger, sharing the experience of singing together in a place that holds such cultural and natural significance.

As our Rock Choir Ireland community continues to grow, moments like this show what can be achieved when we come together through music.

Performing “Dreams” on the North Antrim coast

The choice of “Dreams” by The Cranberries brought a strong sense of connection to the performance. The song, rooted in Irish music, felt completely at home against the coastal backdrop, linking place, music and community in a natural and meaningful way.

Rock Choir Leader Clare Galway led the performance and also performed the violin solo featured on the track. With more than 500 voices coming together, the sound reflected the power of group singing and the unity that comes from sharing the experience.

Filming took place in true coastal conditions, with wind, rain and changing skies shaping the atmosphere of the day. These elements became part of the performance, capturing the resilience, warmth and spirit of our Rock Choir Ireland community.

A performance shared around the world

Following its release, the video reached audiences far beyond the Causeway. After being reshared, it connected with millions of people worldwide, reaching over 10 million views across social media.

Messages of support came from across the world, with many drawn to the sense of connection and positivity within the performance. The video was also recognised by artists including Annie Lennox and shared by The Cranberries, bringing further attention to the project.

What began as a shared Rock Choir Ireland experience became something that resonated far beyond the moment itself.

A growing Rock Choir Ireland journey

This performance reflects the continued growth of Rock Choir Ireland. In a short time, our community has expanded members across Northern Ireland and beyond, with new choirs continuing to open.

Alongside the performance, we were proud to support the Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts Festival, reflecting our belief in the positive impact of singing together on wellbeing and connection.

The Giant’s Causeway performance stands as a powerful part of our journey. It shows what can happen when we come together through music, share the experience and create something that connects people far beyond the performance itself.
