Rock Choir ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’ Performance at Althorp

Our Rock Choir community came together for a special recording and live performance at Althorp, creating a meaningful moment that celebrated young people, legacy and the power of music. Set within the historic grounds of Althorp House, this brought together voices from across our community to support The Diana Award and mark 25 years since Princess Diana’s legacy continues to inspire change.

Singing “Make Your Own Kind of Music”, our members created a performance shaped by individuality, confidence and the shared experience of singing together, all while supporting a cause that continues to empower young people.

Filmed on location at Althorp, the performance became part of a wider project that combined music, storytelling and community, capturing the strength of our Rock Choir experience in a unique and memorable setting.

Supporting The Diana Award and 25 years of legacy

This project supported The Diana Award, a charity that carries forward Princess Diana’s belief in the power of young people to make a difference. As part of marking 25 years of that legacy, we used our voices to help share that message and support the ongoing work of the charity.

Bringing our Rock Choir community together in this way reflects who we are. Singing together builds confidence, connection and a sense of belonging, and this brought those elements together with a shared purpose.

For those who took part, performing at Althorp added another layer of meaning. It was an opportunity to be part of something that honoured the past while supporting future generations.

A live performance at Althorp

The performance at Althorp brought our singers together in a setting rich with history and significance. Surrounded by the estate’s beautiful grounds, our members performed together, creating a sound that reflected unity, warmth and shared purpose.

“Make Your Own Kind of Music” was chosen for its message of individuality and self-expression. Its lyrics encourage people to embrace who they are and follow their own path, closely aligning with the values of The Diana Award and its focus on young people leading change.

The filming captured not only the performance itself, but also the atmosphere of the day. There was a strong sense of togetherness throughout, with every voice contributing to a collective sound shaped by encouragement and shared experience.

An official single supporting a meaningful cause

Following the recording, the track was released as an official Rock Choir single in support of The Diana Award. Members and supporters came together to download, stream and share the song, helping to extend its reach and impact.

The response reflected the strength of our Rock Choir community. Through music, we were able to support an important cause while also sharing a positive and uplifting message more widely.

It became more than a performance. It was a shared moment where music and purpose came together.

A shared Rock Choir journey

Projects like this reflect what sits at the heart of Rock Choir. When we come together to sing, we create connection, confidence and a sense of belonging that continues beyond the moment itself.

The performance at Althorp now stands as a special part of our Rock Choir story. It reflects how we come together, support one another and use our voices to create something that reaches far beyond the performance itself.

Continuing our Rock Choir journey

Projects like this show what can be achieved when we bring together music, community and a shared sense of purpose.

The Althorp performance remains a powerful example of how our journey continues to grow. Through singing together, we connect, support one another and create moments that stay with us.
