Dani Rhodes – Rock Choir Keighley
Dani first discovered Rock Choir through Facebook and decided to give it a try by attending a free taster session with her local Rock Choir in Keighley, West Yorkshire.
From the moment she arrived, she immediately felt welcomed by the people around her.
“It felt like I had been there for weeks, not just turned up on my first week.”
That friendly atmosphere quickly helped Dani feel comfortable and part of the choir community.
A year full of confidence and new experiences
Although Dani has only been part of Rock Choir for a year, she says it has already changed her life in so many positive ways.
“It has been the best year of my life.”
Over the past year, Dani has grown in confidence and found herself doing things she never imagined she would feel able to do before.
“Thanks to Rock Choir I have grown in confidence to do things I wouldn’t even have imagined.”
Performances, events and unforgettable moments
Performing has become one of Dani’s favourite parts of choir life.
One standout memory was singing at Temple Newsam, the historic stately home in Leeds which regularly hosts concerts, festivals and major public events.
She has also loved taking part in larger choir celebrations and says attending Rock Choir LIVE has been one of the biggest highlights of her time in the choir so far.
Alongside performances, Dani especially enjoyed attending the Spring Ball, where members had the chance to dress up, socialise and celebrate together outside rehearsals.
Friendship and feeling part of something
For Dani, one of the most important parts of Rock Choir has been the people she has met along the way.
She describes everyone she has met through the choir community as welcoming, supportive and friendly, helping her feel included right from the start.
Over time, those weekly rehearsals have become much more than simply singing songs together.

What started as trying something new has now become one of the highlights of Dani’s week.
