Jayne Hall – Rock Choir West Berkshire

Jayne first discovered Rock Choir after searching online for a local choir to join.

“I wanted to join a local choir and Google suggested Rock Choir.”

What began as a simple search soon became an important part of her life, bringing friendship, music and a strong sense of community.

Finding belonging through singing

For Jayne, one of the most important things Rock Choir has given her is a sense of connection.

“I have found, with Rock Choir, a sense of belonging, friendship, fun and laughter!”

Through weekly rehearsals, performances and social gatherings, she has built friendships and become part of a supportive choir community in West Berkshire.

“I love the weekly sessions, the performances and the casual meet ups we organise when we have no sessions.”

Those connections have become just as important as the singing itself.

Performing in front of thousands

One of Jayne’s most memorable experiences came in 2025 when she joined over 1,200 fellow Rockies to perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the annual rugby fixture between Saracens and Harlequins.

Standing alongside so many members and hearing the sound of voices coming together created an unforgettable experience.

Events on that scale demonstrate the unique opportunities Rock Choir offers members, whether they have been singing for years or are relatively new to performing.

The power of music and connection

One song in particular stands out in Jayne’s Rock Choir journey.

“Fix You – in support of the Mental Health Foundation.”

Originally released by Coldplay, the song has become a powerful and emotional piece for many singers and audiences alike. For Jayne, it holds special meaning and remains one of her favourite Rock Choir memories.

Through learning harmonies, performing in public and taking part in events, she continues to challenge herself and encourage others around her.

“Whilst I might not have the strongest of voices I try really hard to learn my harmonies and lyrics.”

Friendship, fun and laughter

What shines through most strongly in Jayne’s story is the joy she finds in being part of the choir.

“I love performing at the gigs.”

Whether singing with her local Rock Choir, performing at major events or simply enjoying time with friends, Rock Choir has become a place filled with encouragement, laughter and shared experiences.

For Jayne, those simple things have made all the difference.
