Jennie Bedford – Rock Choir Wokingham
Jennie first discovered Rock Choir through a friend who always spoke so highly of it. As someone who already loved singing, she decided to go for it and try her local choir in Wokingham.
That decision opened the door to new friendships, shared performances and experiences that have meant more than she could have imagined.
Finding confidence through choir
When Jennie joined, she describes herself as feeling lost and shy. Over time, being part of Rock Choir has helped her confidence grow in ways that still surprise her.
“I was very lost and shy when I joined, and cannot believe the difference it has made to me.”
Her weekly rehearsals have become something she never wants to miss, bringing laughter, music and a sense of belonging into her routine.
A dream come true at Abbey Road
One of Jennie’s most treasured memories is recording at Abbey Road Studios, a world-famous London recording studio known for its place in music history.
For Jennie, the moment was made even more personal by the song they recorded.
“Abbey Road Studios, recording ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ which was our wedding song was a dream come true.”
Friendships and shared performances
Alongside the music, the friendships Jennie has made have become one of the best parts of her experience.
She has met a lovely group of friends and shared many performances with them, creating memories that continue to grow with each event.
The laughter they share and the moments they experience together have become a huge part of why Rock Choir means so much to her.
“The best therapy”
For Jennie, singing has become a way to pause, reset and feel lighter when life feels difficult.
“Being able to switch off and sing when life gets hard is the best therapy.”
That feeling of release, combined with the people around her, has made Rock Choir a steady and positive part of her life.
Making her family proud
Jennie’s family love coming to watch the choir perform, and their support means everything to her.
“My children tell me how proud they are which means the world!”
From joining as someone shy and unsure to becoming part of a local choir where she feels confident, supported and proud, Jennie’s Rock Choir journey has brought friendship, music and moments she will always treasure.
