Lauren McGarrigle
Lauren is an experienced and professionally trained singer, musician and vocal coach from Glasgow, who loves both teaching and performing.
She has had a passion for singing and vocal technique since she had her first singing lesson at 8 years old, and continued to study music throughout her education. As a former student, she has a Diploma in Music Performance and specialised in Vocal Technique, which she always implements into her teaching at choir to ensure her members voices are healthy and happy.
Since her studies, she worked in music therapy with elderly patients with specialist conditions such as Dementia and others. This experience opened her eyes to how beneficial and important music and singing is for our mental health and bringing communities together, and loves that her choirs have helped her do this since September 2019.
She also gained experience from appearing in a BBC Film, when she was just 17, where she recorded and performed in the production, and has performed to a variety of audiences, the biggest being 40,000 people at London’s Hyde Park.
She enjoys making her choir sessions a fun, inclusive and relaxed environment and encourages everyone to give singing in a choir a go!
