Rachel is a seasoned choir leader, vocal enthusiast, and fully qualified music educator who has spent the last 14 years turning Central Scotland’s singers into stars—one epic harmony at a time.
Armed with a BA (Hons) in Music Performance from Perth College UHI, Rachel’s career has spanned the full spectrum of music and education. She has taught music in primary schools, led teenagers in secondary school performances, and taught in Further Education settings, helping aspiring musicians find their feet—and their voice.
Rachel’s real superpower lies in community music, where she has built and nurtured choirs that feel more like families. For over a decade, she has led six Rock Choirs across Scotland, helping hundreds of members find confidence, joy, and the courage to sing their hearts out in front of thousands. Recently, Rachel handed five of those choirs over to a new leader, stepping into a shiny new role as Head of New Leader Training.
When it comes to performances, Rachel’s list of highlights includes lighting up the stage at Killin Music Festival, bringing the drama to The Kelpies, spreading joy at Disneyland Paris, and most recently raising the roof at Perth Concert Hall. There have been many goosebumps moments, and enough tear-jerking harmonies to last a lifetime! Rachel is all about giving her choir members unforgettable opportunities to perform in iconic spaces.
Known for her theatrical flair, vocal precision, and wicked sense of humour, Rachel brings a unique energy to every rehearsal. She has a deep interest in vocal technique and ongoing professional development, always keen to learn, grow, and help her members do the same.
Her sessions are energetic, inclusive, and filled with feel-good vibes. Whether you’re a confident performer or a quiet singer just dipping your toes in, Rachel creates a space where everyone feels welcome—and where singing loudly and proudly is the norm!
Now, as Head of New Leader Training, Rachel is excited to pass the mic to new choir leaders across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Ireland, helping them create the same magical experiences for their own choirs
