Mike has had a very fulfilling performance career so far. Currently, he performs with The Base Tones vocal harmony group at a variety of venues across the country, including theatres, cruise ships, festivals, and holiday parks. Mike’s performance career has been exciting and varied, with opportunities from Rock Choir, such as performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and recording at Abbey Road Studios, alongside personal music projects.

Before joining Rock Choir, Mike’s teaching career focused mainly on children aged 7–18, where he ran music sessions and workshops, as well as provided peripatetic instrumental teaching. He acknowledges there’s an abundance of transferable skills when moving from teaching children to teaching adults.

Having a very broad taste in music has always benefited Mike’s career, from Mozart to Metallica and everything in between.

Mike strives to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere for learning, and he is passionate about making music entertaining, engaging, and accessible to all. He feels fortunate to be part of the Rock Choir team, which boasts a fantastic region of choir leaders, and is excited for what the future holds.
