Lee & Janine Mason – Rock Choir Worthing
For Lee and Janine, Rock Choir became much more than simply a place to sing each week. It became the reason they met, fell in love and eventually got married.
Janine first joined Rock Choir after spotting an advert for a taster session on Facebook, while Lee later discovered the local Worthing Rock Choir performing live and decided to give it a try himself.
Neither of them could have imagined where that decision would eventually lead.
Friendship that turned into something more
After meeting through Rock Choir in Worthing, Lee and Janine became friends through rehearsals, performances and social events.
One special moment that stands out for both of them was “singing at Broadwater Carnival in Worthing,” where their friendship first began to grow.
Over time, that friendship became something much more meaningful.
“After being friends for a couple of years we decided we wanted to be together.”
Their relationship continued to grow quickly, leading to an engagement during a holiday to France before marrying in April 2026.
Music, performances and unforgettable experiences
Alongside finding each other through Rock Choir, both Lee and Janine have created countless memories through performances and events over the years.
For Janine, standout experiences included recording at Abbey Road Studios and singing at Disneyland Paris.
For Lee, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival became one of his favourite Rock Choir memories.
From local performances around Worthing to iconic venues and international trips, Rock Choir has brought both of them opportunities and experiences they never expected when first attending rehearsals.
“We have Rock Choir to thank for all of this”
For Lee and Janine, Rock Choir has had a life-changing impact far beyond music alone.
“We’ve both made lots of friends.”
More importantly, it brought them together in the first place.
“We have Rock Choir to thank for all of this as without it we would never have met.”
Their wedding day itself became another reminder of how important the choir community had become in their lives, with many fellow Rockies there to celebrate alongside them.
What started as two separate decisions to attend a local choir rehearsal in Worthing eventually became the beginning of a completely new chapter in both of their lives.
