Tim Holcroft – Rock Choir Milton Keynes

Tim first discovered Rock Choir through the ITV documentary series The Choir That Rocks and immediately felt inspired to give it a try.

“I thought why not? Rock Choir looks great.”

That decision led to joining his local Rock Choir in Milton Keynes in 2011, beginning a journey that has now spanned well over a decade filled with music, performances and friendships.

Growing in confidence through singing

Over the years, Rock Choir has helped Tim grow enormously in confidence.

One of his proudest moments came while performing with an ensemble at The Stables in Wavendon, the well-known live music venue in Milton Keynes which has hosted countless respected musicians and performers.

“I took lead vocal which no way I would have ever done before joining Rock Choir.”

Performing lead vocals in front of a live audience became a huge personal achievement for Tim.

“I got a standing ovation from the audience.”

That moment showed just how far his confidence had grown since first joining Rock Choir.

From Abbey Road to the Edinburgh Fringe

Tim has experienced many memorable moments during his Rock Choir journey, including recording at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios.

“Recording at Abbey Road Studios, that was amazing.”

Another major highlight was performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, one of the world’s most famous arts festivals.

“Singing at the Edinburgh Fringe, what an incredible experience.”

Over the years, Tim has also performed at iconic venues including Wembley Stadium, The O2 and Disneyland Paris.

Music, friendships and unforgettable songs

For Tim, Rock Choir has always been about more than simply singing.

“I have met so many friends who are all amazing.”

The friendships, rehearsals and performances have all played a huge role in helping him feel less anxious and more confident in everyday life.

“I have gained a lot of confidence joining Rock Choir. It has made me a lot less anxious.”

He also still remembers some of the songs that have meant the most to him over the years.

“My fave being ‘Someone You Loved’.”

Tim also has a soft spot for “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” as it was the very first song he learned with the choir.

Still loving every Thursday night

More than a decade after joining, Tim still looks forward to every Thursday rehearsal in Milton Keynes.

“I love my Thursday nights.”

From standing ovations and iconic venues to friendships and confidence, Rock Choir continues to be an important and joyful part of Tim’s life.

“I can’t wait to see where my Rock Choir journey leads me next.”
