Lucy has spent over 15 years with Rock Choir, running several choirs across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Hampshire. Her musical journey began at age five with piano lessons, which led to a first-class honours degree in Classical Piano Performance from the London College of Music. Before moving into choir leadership full-time, Lucy taught piano, performed with the London Philharmonic Choir, and played keyboards in West End and UK touring shows such as Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia.
As a keen traveller, Lucy has had the privilege of exploring the world with this wonderful group of people — from the buzzing Edinburgh Fringe to intimate performances at Reading Minster, as well as muddy festivals, colourful Pride events, arena performances, and more. But beyond the performances, the moments Lucy loves the most happen in weekly rehearsals when people discover new confidence and friendships through singing together. This is why she’s still going strong after more than 15 years. Her choirs feel like extended families — supportive, joyful, and always up for anything.
Most recently, around 120 members took part in an unforgettable trip to Estonia, joining Lucy on a dream adventure to bring Rock Choir to the Estonian Song & Dance Festival. The choirs have also recorded at Abbey Road Studios, where they had the incredible opportunity to record with virtuoso pianist Joshua Burniece, who flew over from America to perform his stunning version of Footloose live on piano for them to sing along to.
For Lucy, choir is as much about community as it is about music. She is passionate about creating a space where everyone feels at home, is challenged just enough, and leaves feeling uplifted.
