Rob Slater has been the vibrant heart of Rock Choir in the North East since 2011, leading hundreds of enthusiastic singers across the region in uplifting, high-energy performances that entertain and inspire. With his warm, passionate approach and infectious love of music, Rob has transformed the musical lives of countless people—many of whom had never sung in front of others before joining Rock Choir.
Under Rob’s leadership, his choirs have performed at some of the North East’s most iconic venues, including Durham Cathedral, Hexham Abbey, The Glasshouse, and Newcastle City Hall. Before joining Rock Choir, Rob spent many years gigging extensively across the North of Britain, performing in both original and function bands, and soaking up the rich musical landscape of the UK. He has also worked in schools, colleges, and as a private instrumental instructor, teaching vocals, piano, and keyboard to students of all ages and abilities. His approachable teaching style and supportive nature have helped countless budding musicians grow in confidence and skill.
