Jennifer joined Rock Choir in 2010 as a choir member before becoming a Choir Leader in 2011. It’s a role she finds incredibly enjoyable and rewarding, and she feels very lucky to have met so many amazing people, as well as having fantastic opportunities to perform. Since Jennifer joined, Rock Choir has grown significantly, and she appreciates the supportive team and the regular get-togethers that are both fun and a great way to continue learning.
Jennifer has had numerous incredible opportunities, both personally as a Choir Leader and with her choirs through the variety of performances they have taken part in. Highlights include singing on stage at Hyde Park, as well as being involved in arena shows such as the O2, Liverpool Echo Arena, and the NEC. There have also been a number of exciting TV and radio opportunities, including appearances on The One Show, ITV’s Good Morning Britain, and Heart Radio.
Jennifer has enjoyed taking her choirs to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe over several years, and locally, they take part in various events throughout the year, with December being particularly busy due to Christmas performances. Her choirs have performed at many different venues, including Glasgow City Halls, Cottiers Theatre, George Square, and the Kelvingrove Bandstand. Notable highlights include taking her choirs to record at Abbey Road and performing at Euro Disney in Paris. They also enjoy performing at a range of local events within the community.
Jennifer is very proud to say that through many of their performances, her choirs have raised thousands of pounds for charities over the years, including Alzheimer’s Scotland, Scottish Women’s Aid, and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, to name just a few.
Additionally, Jennifer has had the pleasure of bringing choir experiences into the workplace by providing corporate workshops for companies such as Ernst & Young, Lloyds Banking, John Lewis, and People’s Postcode Lottery.
In the last year, Jennifer has taken on a new and exciting role as Choir Leader Liaison for The Hands That Rock, led by Paul Whittaker OBE. She enjoys helping behind the scenes with the members of the group, who provide signed performances using BSL at many of Rock Choir’s events.
Jennifer is a firm believer that “what’s for you will not go by you,” and joining Rock Choir has been the start of a fantastic journey both musically and personally
