JOY FROM WHAT WE DO
I have worked for Rock Choir for 4 years now and can honestly say it’s been the best 4 years of my working life!
The Choir Leaders and HQ team really are like a family. We absolutely love working together and get so much joy from what we do. There have been difficult times in my personal life where Rock Choir has looked after me and made me feel so very supported which I will be forever grateful for.
I have always felt recognised, valued and respected in my job at Rock Choir and look forward to many more happy years as part of a fantastic team!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS JOB
As the newest Leader to the South West Region of Rock Choir I am still finding my feet. Now into my third term I can without doubt say this job is flipping brilliant!
Since September I have been fortunate enough to work with some truly remarkable musicians many of whom are not just colleagues but now great personal friends. I am incredibly grateful to my fab Regional Manager Jan who is on hand 24/7 to help guide me through any challenges I might face at any given time.
One might think that this is where the ‘team’ finishes but I am incredibly proud to be part of a brilliant team that goes well beyond Cornwall and the South West. There are 80 plus Rock Choir Leaders each working tirelessly to ensure the Rock Choir name, ethos and values are maintained, sustained and developed. What stands out for me more than anything is that every resource, every live session, video resource, lyric sheet, social activity, vocal arrangement and all that we have and use is all created and vetted by the executive, creative and admin teams and I am certain this is no easy challenge.
At the end of this long line of Members, Leaders, Regional Managers, administrative teams, executives and directors is our amazing Founder, Caroline Redman Lusher. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to ensure the wellbeing and continuity for over 30,000 people and I personally know that the wellbeing of every member of staff and every single Rock Choir Member is absolutely at the heart at every decision which is being and has been made.
I absolutely love this job and wish I had joined the Rock Choir family much sooner. It is an absolute privilege to call myself a Rock Choir Leader. As we say here in Cornwall “ Onwards and Upwards!” Be kind and keep singing.
THE BEST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE
When I interviewed to be a Rock Choir Leader in 2010, I was still at University and thought it would be a job for a couple of years until I got a ‘real job’.
I’ve now had over a 10-year career with Rock Choir and I couldn’t wish to work for a more supportive, energetic and dynamic organisation.
Over the years I’ve always felt incredibly supported by Caroline and our team at HQ whether it’s with different ideas and projects, like bringing Rock Choir to the Edinburgh Fringe which had been a constant dream of mine since 2011 or bringing new ideas in locally for our Members to try.
It’s a continual collaboration within the team to create the best experience possible for our wonderful choir members.
WHOLE COMPANY WORKING TOGETHER
I’ve been a Rock Choir Leader for 9 years and have learnt so much in that time thanks to the support and training we get as Leaders.
In this last month (during the Covid lockdown) all of us at Rock Choir have learnt new skills and I am happy that we can continue to deliver Rock Choir to our Members. So many people will be going through this unsettling and strange time alone.
We are still able to connect with our members and really keep the community going! None of this would be possible if without the whole company working together as one team.
I’m really proud to be part of Rock Choir! X
CARED FOR AND SUPPORTED
I love working for Rock Choir, it is like being a part of a huge family, I feel cared for and supported always.
A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE
I have spent almost 10 years working alongside incredibly talented people who are making a positive difference to people’s lives through music and song!
FULL OF NEW ADVENTURES
This year is my 10th Year as a Rock Choir Leader and I am feeling such an overwhelming sense of pride for who we are as a company and what we are continuing to be able to do to bring music and joy into people’s lives.
I am blessed to work with an incredible Team who inspire me on a daily basis. They have helped me push myself to learn technology I have always been frightened of.
Year 10 is turning out to be full of new adventures. Bring it on!
SUPPORTIVE AND UNDERSTANDING
Big thanks to Caroline and Rock Choir for keeping us going through this tough time. As a company they have been so supportive and understanding of our situation.
It’s a fabulous company to work for and I can’t thank them enough for all the support and love they have given to the staff and membership.
AN AMAZING ORGANISATION
It has been amazing joining Rock Choir and this is probably one of the most satisfactory experiences I have had work wise.
I love the team spirit and despite being a solitary job sometimes, I have always found support and answers to all my questions even at non-working hour.
Caroline has created an amazing organisation that gives joy to people. It is great to be part of it!
IT IS MY JOB (AND HONOUR!)
Over ten years I have worked for Rock Choir, I have had a great experience being a part of this amazing team.
It is my job (and honour!) to provide my choir members with the best experience possible, and I am only able to do this with the support I get from everybody at Rock Choir HQ.
It has been fantastic to see this special company go from strength to strength, and being a part of it is a great privilege.
A GREAT TEAM
A great place to work, a great bunch of people, a great TEAM!
FREEDOM TO FLOURISH
I feel so lucky to work with such a supportive organisation and feel extremely supported and valued by Caroline and the management team.
I feel like there is a helping hand when it’s needed but also that I’m given the freedom to flourish as a musician and educator. I’ve had so many amazing experiences with Rock Choir but also know that I, and our membership, will be looked after during difficult times such as the pandemic.
The response has been incredible and I’m lucky enough to see first-hand the positive impact that Caroline’s vision and the Rock Choir team’s hard work has on people’s lives.
KINDNESS AND ENCOURAGEMENT
Rock Choir is so much more than just a great place to work. At the very core of this business is kindness and encouragement and who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by that?
PASSION, CAREER AND FRIENDSHIP
Rock Choir gave me the chance to combine my passion, career and friendship all in one place, something I didn’t always realise was possible until I started this job!
My Members quite often tell me how much their weekly rehearsals and seeing everyone gives them their ‘boost’ for the week, but they do exactly the same for me.
Being able to communicate and sing with everyone has really helped keep me going and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and determination from the whole Rock Choir team!
I’m very proud to be a part of it!
IT IS THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!
I have been a Rock Choir Leader for 9 years now and can honestly say, hand on heart, that it is the best job in the world!
Our Founder, Caroline Redman Lusher, is the most passionate person I know and is constantly looking out for absolutely everyone including the Leaders, the HQ Team and of course our wonderful Rockies.
We are one family and together we support each other.
I LOVE THE WHOLE ETHOS
I have been working for Rock Choir and I can genuinely say that I have loved every single second of it. It ticks all boxes for me.
I work within a great team of like-minded, creative, genuine, supportive and incredibly talented people. This is both on a local, regional and national level. I feel that I am both supported and challenged by Caroline and the team both as a musician and on a personal level.
The performance and creative opportunities that Caroline and Rock Choir have provided for me in my short time as a choir leader I could have only dreamed of in my previous job. I love the members, I love the music, I love my team and I love the whole ethos of what Rock Choir is all about.
We are always looking to provide the very best tuition, opportunities and support for each and every member and I for one continue to be inspired by Caroline and her creative team.
ONE BIG FAMILY
As a Choir Leader for Rock Choir, I feel nothing but support from Caroline and the whole team.
I love that Caroline herself is a music teacher too; she’s just like us Choir Leaders! She texts and rings us regularly just to check in and the whole team is happy to offer us as much or as little support as we feel we need which has been even more solidified during these unprecedented times.
In the past years of working for Rock Choir, I have had consistent training to help keep me motivated and inspired in what I do and have been offered extra work as part of the Creative Team, working with HQ to record arrangements and taking part in some of the incredible extra events that we are so lucky to be a part of.
As a self-employed musician, to feel financially secure and safe during this time is a total blessing and to continue giving our members a boost during such a difficult time is so amazing. This is all down to HQ and Caroline. They want to keep supporting all of us, the Rockies and their Choir Leaders and I am forever grateful for this.
Rock Choir genuinely feels like one big family and at the heart of that family are the Rock Choir Members.
IN AWE OF THE COMMUNITY SPIRIT
For just under 12 years I have worked with Rock Choir and I am in awe of the community spirit and the British “can do attitude” among everyone involved in this organisation.
Caroline, HQ Staff and Leaders, have all driven and adapted to this unprecedented situation to keep everyone singing in a virtual manner within the community. We are exceeding everyone’s expectations of singing together. Nothing will replace when we can all be in the same room again but virtual singing comes a very close second.
I don’t think any of us have ever worked so hard to make sure all runs smoothly, offering each individual so much to do on a daily basis. Thank you Caroline & Rock Choir Xx
INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL AS A MUSICIAN
I feel so lucky to be a part of the Rock Choir family…and I really do mean it when I use the word ‘family’ to describe Rock Choir because the amount of love and support that is shared throughout the organization is really quite special and it’s something I’ve never experienced from a ‘job’ before. Yes I used quotation marks around the word job because even though we work hard, a lot of the time it doesn’t feel like a job. Sorry for the cheesy wording but it’s true…
We are in uncertain right now times but I am very proud of Caroline and all of my colleagues at Rock Choir for rising up to the challenge and finding new ways of bringing that magic to all the wonderful Rockies at home keeping them and myself sane. This is magic that is important to so many people including myself so I’m incredibly grateful as a musician to be able to keep making music as it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.
Rock Choir and my amazing choir members have both showed me so much love and support so I just want to say…Thank you!
