Sarah Hollick - Rock Choir

Sarah Hollick

Choir Leader Sarah Hollick runs Rock Choir in North Wilts, Rock Choir in Swindon, and Rock Choir in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Sarah has a BMus degree in Music specialising in Vocal Performance. She is also a Grade 8 pianist and saxophonist, and a Yamaha Accredited Music Teacher. She has been known to multi-task, often singing lead vocals or backing vocals, as well as playing the saxophone.

Her career highlights include playing the saxophone at Ronnie Scott’s which she has said was a dream come true, but being on stage at some bigger festivals like Magic Summer Live and Victorious Festival and playing alongside acts such as Beverley Knight, Jamiroquai, Naughty Boy and Seasick Steve was also fantastic.

“My musical inspiration is very varied – I love Debussy and Einaudi to play on piano, but Charlie Parker and John Coltrane are my ‘Sax Heroes’! When it comes to vocals I love females that sing with their heart and soul – Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin and more contemporary artists like Beth Orton too. I love music and find every genre has something different to say to me, whether its Soul, Blues, Cool Jazz, Trip Hop or Dance. Performing is a feeling like no other so when it comes to teaching I am always hoping to pass on my knowledge so that other people can find the joy that music can bring too. That’s why I love Rock Choir – it gives EVERYONE the opportunity to experience the sensation of performance and being part of a musical group. The opportunities that are available are so incredible, and the joy this brings to members shows just how valuable these experiences can be.”
