Sam Herbert (Dep) - Rock Choir

Sam Herbert (Dep)

Choir Leader Sam Herbert runs Rock Choir in Wickford, and Rock Choir in Brentford.

Sam is a Classically trained Opera singer, with Grade 8 in Piano, Singing and Trumpet. After graduating from the RNCM with a BMus (Hons) he discovered his passion was in education and has been teaching singing, piano and working as a vocal coach ever since. Growing up in Cambridge, Sam was the Head Chorister at ‘The Leys School’ and was fortunate enough to secure a scholarship to sing Handel’s Messiah at Kings College Cathedral with The Fairhaven Singers.

When he isn’t teaching he is a well-recognised local artist, and also plays in venues across the UK with bands ‘The Royal Affair’ and ‘Just For The Weekend’. He has played with many Cambridgeshire bands, most notably headlining the Flying Pig stage at Strawberry Fair with local band ‘Four Doors Down’.

Outside of music, Sam is a keen sportsman, most notably for his Rugby career competing in two RBS School Rugby finals at Twickenham. He also plays Football and Cricket but is considerably less successful in both.
