Lizzie Deane

Growing up in the Midlands, Lizzie gained a BA (Hons) Music Degree and Advanced Acting Diploma at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Following classical training in her school and college years, her musical journey began with choirs and musical theatre, before a spell with various function bands proved to be the catalyst in changing her music career-path. Her voice evolved from a classical soprano into the powerful, soulful instrument she now possesses, enabling her to work with many of the respected artists that have inspired her.

Having performed and toured all over the world with many highly-acclaimed artists including Pee Wee Ellis & Fred Wesley (JB Horns), Carleen Anderson, Marcella Detroit, Mica Paris, Kim Mazelle and Jocelyn Brown, as well as Boy George, Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones and Just Jack, Lizzie Deane has a wealth of stage, TV, radio and session experience. She then stepped out of the shadows writing her own material and performing with her band, to rave performance and album reviews. Whilst retaining a strong individual style of her own, Lizzie has drawn comparisons to Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Lisa Stansfield and Joss Stone.

She also sings with other highly respected groups including the fabulous 1940s vocal harmony act ‘The Rockabellas’ and is the lead singer of American soul/jazz saxophonist ‘Dave Lewis’ 1Up’.

‘Joining Rock Choir felt like coming home! Music isn’t mine to keep, it’s to pass on. It’s such a joy to be able to share some of the experiences I’ve been lucky enough to have with a group of very eager and appreciative singers. I love the sense of fun and friendship and I always come home with a HUGE smile on my face!’
