Josh Gernon

Josh graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Popular Music at Colchester Institute. He is an advanced Vocalist and Guitarist, having played guitar for over 15 years. He is also very passionate about Sound Engineering.

Josh is part of one of the UK’s leading Function Bands known as ‘Happy Hour’ playing shows all over the world and has had the chance to work with artists such as Pixie Lott and Sam Duckworth. He has also played countless weddings and corporate events for clients such as ITV, Cancer Research and Playboy

Josh’s musical inspiration comes from a number of different styles. He comes from a very musical family and he developed a taste for Soul and Funk music from his mother’s music collection. His father on the other hand, took him to his first ever rock concert when he was 10 and very shortly after that he got his first ever guitar. He was then devoted to becoming a rock star!

I feel so lucky to be a part of the Rock Choir family…and I really do mean it when I use the word ‘family’ to describe Rock Choir because the amount of love and support that is shared throughout the organization is really quite special and it’s something I’ve never experienced from a ‘job’ before. Yes I used quotation marks around the word job because even though we work hard, a lot of the time it doesn’t feel like a job. Sorry for the cheesy wording but it’s true…

We are in uncertain right now times but I am very proud of Caroline and all of my colleagues at Rock Choir for rising up to the challenge and finding new ways of bringing that magic to all the wonderful Rockies at home keeping them and myself sane. This is magic that is important to so many people including myself so I’m incredibly grateful as a musician to be able to keep making music as it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.

Rock Choir and my amazing choir members have both showed me so much love and support so I just want to say…Thank you!
