Jessica Ross
Jessica Ross is an extremely keen and passionate oboist, pianist and singer, who recently graduated from UEA with a BA in music, specialising in performance. She has had an exciting career in music since learning piano at age six and oboe at twelve, achieving grade eight in both at a young age. Since then she has taken every musical opportunity possible and performed in orchestras such as: Norwich Pops Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Anglia, Norfolk County Youth Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Daniel and UEA Symphony Orchestra with conductors Sir Colin Davis and Jiří Bělohlávek.
She was awarded a sixth form scholarship for music and the music prefect role at Norwich High School and was awarded the Hilda Houssart Scholarship for music at UEA. Jessica teaches piano and voice lessons privately, composes music and loves bringing music to the public through teaching and performance. On music tours she has performed at Koln Cathedral, St. Mark’s Basilica and other European venues. This includes many other local venues in Norfolk such as The Forum, St. Andrewʼs Hall, The Assembly House and Norwich Cathedral.
Jessica has an eclectic musical taste and is influenced by a range of music from Bach, Stravinsky, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Miles Davis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Soundgarden and Guns n’ Roses.
Jessica brings music awareness and education to the public and loves influencing others about the power of music and sharing the wonder that making music together can achieve. She feels very strongly that singing creates harmony musically and between people, so is extremely excited about the future with Rock Choir
