Jennifer Scouller
Jennifer joined Rock Choir in 2010 and became a Music Leader a few months later. She quickly introduced a variety of daytime and evening choirs throughout Glasgow and its surrounding areas, paving the way for the continued growth of the Rock Choir community in Scotland.
Jennifer enjoyed a very musical upbringing and was accepted into the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in Glasgow. She later achieved an Honours Degree in Psychology from St.Andrews University. Before joining Rock Choir Jennifer taught music in group sessions to hundreds of young children across Glasgow.
In her career with Rock Choir Jennifer and her choir members have taken part in some amazing events, including arena shows at Wembley Stadium, the Liverpool Echo Arena and the 02. Personal highlights include taking to the stage with her fellow Rock Choir colleagues at the Hyde Park Proms in the Park. In 2015 Jennifer was delighted to be asked to assist with the teaching of the Andorran Teen Rock Choir which was a hugely rewarding experience culminating in her leading them on stage at the Rock Choir 10 Year Celebrations at the NEC Arena in Birmingham.
Closer to home, Jennifer’s choirs have performed at prestigious venues such as the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Kelvingrove Bandstand, the Fruitmarket and the Glasgow City Halls. Her choirs have also been part of Rock Choir’s many runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Jennifer is a born organiser. She has arranged a recording trip to Abbey Road for her members as well as a tour to Paris including performances at the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland. Public Performances are an integral part of Jennifer’s strong belief that music can help the community and bring joy to people’s lives. Jennifer and her choirs via their many local performances have raised thousands of pounds for a large number of charities.
Jennifer has boundless energy and enthusiasm. Her favourite saying is ‘what’s for you will not go by you’ and she believes joining Rock Choir was the start of a fantastic journey both musically and personally.
