Dan Ribbits

Daniel Ribbits is the Rock Choir Leader for Chelmsford, Saffron Walden, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. He is a pianist and vocalist whose background is mainly in teaching and performing. During the week he teaches music in a number of schools across Essex but also has a number of private piano students. At the weekend he will be found either behind his piano playing at weddings or as part of his duo Playing For Keeps or behind his keyboard with his band Rumour Mill.

Outside of work Daniel is a keen runner and tries to get to as many live music gigs as he can! Daniel is extremely happy to be part of the Rock Choir team and can’t wait to share his passion for music with you all.

I have not only found a way to have a job within the music industry but also a job I can enjoy too! (And I can still pay the bills!)

When I started out with Rock Choir all those years ago, I could not have imagined the experiences I would have ahead of me. I’ve performed in a number of iconic venues; The o2 Arena, Liverpool Echo Arena, Birmingham NEC and The Royal Albert Hall. I’ve been on stage in front of 40,000 people at BBC Proms in the Park in London’s Hyde Park. I’ve sung and recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios and alongside all of these experiences, I have also been able to teach and lead choirs in amazing performances within my local communities! Leading the Rock Choir Members is where I experience the most enjoyment; being able to share my love of music with not just the choirs but also with those who come and support us.

Throughout my time with Rock Choir I have been supported by an ever-growing team ; the HQ Team and the Rock Choir Leaders. Through this support I have grown as a Leader, a person and of course as a musician.

I have taken the skills and experiences I have gained in Rock Choir into other parts of my life and always feel extremely grateful that I am able to share music with people of all ages.

I could never have imagined having a career in music, let alone one that would give me so much opportunity, support and guidance. Now I can’t imagine doing anything else!
