Hayley is the proud Rock Choir leader for Solihull, Dorridge, Bromsgrove, Redditch, and Stratford-upon-Avon. Her love for music began early, with the guitar being her first musical passion. Once she started singing alongside it, she was hooked, and that combination has followed her ever since. Hayley pursued this passion at the University of Liverpool, where she studied Music and Popular Music and graduated with a 2:1. With The Beatles being a huge inspiration to her, it was the ultimate place to grow as a musician.

After graduating, Hayley spent three wonderful years as a secondary school music teacher in St Helens. The highlight of that time was running the after-school choir once a week, a joyful, slightly chaotic, and always rewarding part of the school week. It confirmed for Hayley that there’s nothing quite like group singing to lift spirits, build confidence, and create a sense of community.

Now, Hayley gets to do that full-time with Rock Choir, which is a total dream. Since returning to her West Midlands roots and stepping into the world of Rock Choir, it’s been non-stop harmony and humour. Hayley and her choirs have sung in just about every setting imaginable—hospitals, Christmas markets, summer festivals, and even a local dog rescue (where one enthusiastic pup in the audience howled along in perfect time… it was counted as a duet).

One standout moment came after a stage performance when Hayley and her choir were invited to climb aboard an open-top bus and sing their way through the town, quite literally taking music to the streets. Each group Hayley leads brings its own personality and energy, and no two sessions are ever the same.

One of the more unforgettable performances was a surprise flashmob outside Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford, where the choir sang the Comic Relief charity single Somewhere Only We Know. The confused tourists turned into cheering crowds, and it was the kind of moment that reminds everyone just how powerful music can be.
