On Saturday June 23, on the stroke of 12 noon precisely, 7914 Rock Choir members, family and friends from across the UK broke the Guinness World Record for 'The Largest Song and Dance Routine Across Multiple Venues'.
Everyone learnt a specially arranged and choreographed version of the Bryan Adams and Mel C duet 'Baby When You’re Gone'.
Every participant made a small donation, and so far over £10,000 has been raised for one of Rock Choir's official charities, Refuge, which supports victims of domestic violence, so not only have all the participants become Guinness World Record holders, they've also helped a really worthwhile cause.
Rock Choir™ set the world record for The Largest Musical Act to Release an Album (signed) when the members became signed to Universal's Decca label in 2009 and released Rock Choir Vol1. The news of their achievement was announced to the members at London's Hammersmith Apollo on June 20th 2010. You can see their incredible reaction in the video below.
The following month, on the 17th July 2010 the Rock Choir members won a second Guinness World Record and became The Biggest Hit Act in the UK after Rock Choir Vol1 entered the UK album charts top twenty. It was a wonderful achievement for all the Rock Choir members.
